A Sincere Vessel

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Today I learned in Sunday school, what the word sincere was used as in the Bible to describe a pottery that was unwaxed, meaning genuine or pure vessel. While living in the world we end up with many cracks in our life. Of course we want others to see us as prefect so we just do a temporary mending job that way our flaws will not be seen. The Corinth’s would take wax and temporarily fill the cracks on the pottery and then paint it, making the vessel look authentic. How often did we do this before we came to know Christ as our Savior? Praise God we have the Creator Himself willing and ready to take us in His mighty hands and reshape us into a pure and genuine vessel that can be used by Him and not leak from the temporary patches of wax. We are to be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work, (2 Timothy 2:21).

Heavenly Father, thank You for this message today. It was much needed. I no longer have to live a temporary patched life, I can live knowing You, my Creator has take me back to the pottery wheel and has molded me into the vessel You Lord desire me to be, in Jesus name, Amen.
