Blessing Not Bitter
1 Chronicles 15:29 And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal, the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.
How many times have we stood at the window and witness the joy of others in Jesus, only to have despite in our hearts toward them. Why? Jealously! The devil wants nothing more than for us to be a heart divided. How quickly we lose track of who should be getting the glory. When people notice others believers for their faithfulness, it’s truly Jesus who is seen and not them. When we have a bitterness toward that Christian, we actually have bitterness toward Jesus, “how we treat others is how we treat Jesus,” (John 25:40.) Never rob yourself of the sidelined blessings of watching others shine bright for Christ. The real rewards that matter are never the pats on the back here on earth, but rather from God in heaven! Build up others with encouragement, remember that all is for the glory of God. Let’s never trade blessings for bitterness!
Heavenly Father I pray to be an encourager to others while here on earth. I pray that when others are being recognized for their service to Your kingdom, that I will build them up and not tear them down because of pride. I pray to be a sideline witness of Your glory that brings blessings to others, in Jesus name I pray, Amen
