God Blesses The Giver
Proverbs 11:25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

It is mission month at our church, and I love how my Pastor is guiding us through the Word of God and encouraging us to pray before we commit to giving to missions. Today He used, “Proverbs 11:25” as an illustration of how when we give, we will be given back down the road. I never looked at  it this way, but the thought hit me, giving to others in the Lord is kinda like our own personal account of reassurance. No we don’t need to have the mentality of if I give God will bless me. We need to have a action willing heart; with expecting nothing in return. But praise the Lord we have a faithful God, that when we do give, He takes in blesses us down the road by that individual or another. As believers we should want to give not just ten percent of our first fruits of labour on Sunday but to our missionaries and as well encouragement to others. God will lift you up in your time of need by another Christian as He used you in another’s life just when they needed it. Our jobs as Christian parents is to be teaching our children the importance of giving not just financially but as well physically through he the love of Christ.

Heavenly Father I pray that it will be Your will and not mine on the amount I give for missions offerings. I pray Lord that I will not just limited my giving to only money, but as well as my hands to help and mouth to speak encouraging words to those in need of an ear to listen and a heart of Christ to respond, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Listen & Obey the Holy Spirit’s Promoting

Listen & Obey the Holy Spirit’s Prompting.

Matthew 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

God does not require a person to give up every cent he owns in this world to follow Him, unless it is so important to him that he would chose wealth over God; if it came to that decision. Whatever we have, that is more important to us than God is what we are required to give. God said, thou shalt have no other gods before me, (Exodus 20:3). Anything can become our god, money, car, clothes, jewelry, t.v, music, junk food…etc. If it is something that we worship and put above God, then it is something we need to let go of. Each one of us own an item that we LOVE, and it many not necessarily be a god that we worship; but we would be sad if it was lost or stolen. God may even want you to give it to someone else, WHY? To see if you will follow Him and depart from earthly things that have no value in heaven. I once had my sister in law, who is also one of my very dear friends and sister in Christ; take a pair of earrings right out of her ears and give them to me. Why? Because the Holy Spirit prompt her to do it. God was testing her that day, what was more important to her, those beautiful silver cross “material” earrings, or her obedience to follow Him and be rewarded for her faith in heaven. When the Holy Spirit prompts you to give a material possession away, don’t debate on how much you love that neckless, that is your favorite scarf, or you are saving that money for a new pair of shoes. Even though you may not worship those items, the minute you debated or second guess the Holy Spirit’s command, it becomes your god. Today ask God what items you have that, you would be devastated if lost or stolen, or that has become your god over Him; ask Him who you should bless with these items. The only possession we should own that is important is our salvation, everything else is vapor in the wind and holds no value in the kingdom of God.

Heavenly Father I praise You for my most valuable possession; my salvation, through Christ Jesus, my Savior. Lord I pray that if there is any item that I possess that I think highly of, or has become my god; I pray to listen in obey my Holy Spirit to give it away. I choose to follow you Lord and not be held bondage by material possessions that hold no value in Your kingdom, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Do Good Unto ALL!

Do Good Unto ALL!

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Giving is a blessing; and it should be sought out as an opportunity daily to share God’s love and the Gospel of Christ. Giving to the poor is not just restricted for Thanksgiving and CHRISTmas, we as believers should have a heart of Christ to give all year long, (Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.) Showing God’s love is not just limited to the lost; but as well toward our fellow brothers/sisters in Christ, (John 13:34.) Each new day is a new possibility to give, share and lead. We can give our time, love, help and encouragement to both the saved and unsaved, ( 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.) By sharing God’s love with others loving one another whether they are a believers or nonbelievers; and as well sharing the message of the cross to the lost, (John 3:16.) We can lead others by example of living a spirit filled Christian life and teaching those in Christ the Word of God, (Ephesians 5:2, 1 Corinthians 11:1.) We have unlimited opportunities daily to lead and teach in Scripture; being a Sunday school teacher, youth minister, Awana leader, sharing by Facebook and Twitter ministries. We can even use the old fashion methods of calling, emailing or writing someone to share the Word of God and His love for them. Opportunity knocks at our door every morning as the sun rises and we take our first sip of coffee and meet the Lord in prayer, (Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.) But opportunity can also be missed if all we focus on is our needs and not others. Giving should be prepared and plan prayerfully with God to be on the lookout for those in need; and meeting their needs through your love and God’s Word. Remember our fellow brothers/sisters in Christ have needs just as the lost does; God reminds us in Galatians 6:10 to do good unto ALL men!

Heavenly Father I praise You for each new day and opportunity You give me to share Your love and Word with others. I pray to have my eyes and ears of Christ open to those around me in need; and to meet their needs through Your grace prayerfully, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Humble Giver

Humble Giver

Philippians 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

It is better to give them to receive, (Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.) The heart of a believer should be filled with the compassion to reach out to others in need and give. Our goal should be to focus on our eternal treasures to come and not worldly riches that will fade,( Matthew 6:19-21). Giving cherished material possessions or money is not the only way we help others; as well giving our time. Time is so precious and is the most valuable gift we can give to another. We have been given 24 hours in a day that is 86.400 seconds to give our time to another in need. What a humbling experience it is to know that giving your time to another is a blessing that no form of material possessions or money could ever provide or buy. It takes true humility to put aside your timely needs to help another who needs your time of help. God blesses and restores a happy giver with a humble heart that loves others with a heart of Jesus.

Heavenly Father, I am so thankful for all Your provision in my life. I am also thankful for those You have place in my life that gives their precious time to help me, as well as material possessions. I pray to have a humble heart like Jesus to give to others in their needs of time, provision and financial needs, I pray in Jesus name, Amen.
