Jesus Take the Wheel!
Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
In March I purchased me and my two older children tickets to run in a 5k. I never gave the time or location of the race a second thought after hitting the OK bottom to pay. A few weeks ago me and my kids went over to our friends house who are also going to the race, to make our team shirts. My friend started reading all the guidelines, start time and location of the race. As she read my eyes were getting as big as my fears. The 5k was a night race, “hint foam glow,” and it was about an hour drive. I started to panic in my heart, because I do not like driving in big cities and especially at night. For the last week all I have thought about was the “cons” of this race I had been training for months to participate in. A few weeks ago I was all pipped up about challenging myself, now, all I can think about is the fear I have to drive there. Recently we begin a Bible challenge in our fitness group, and God has used this 15 minutes a day in Psalms to remind me how big He is compared to my fears. God cares about my fears, even driving in a big city. Because He cares about my fears, He wants me to cast them upon Him so He can give me the peace I need to drive to the race. Only God can bring me victory of not just running the race but trusting in Him to get me and my kids safely to and from the race.
Heavenly Father thank You for sustaining me today, and helping to cast my fears of driving in a big city. I know that You Lord will protect me and my children and that You will be guiding my hands and the car. Lord I know You will send a fleet of angels to keep us safe and not cause us harm to and from the race. Thank You Jesus, I pray You will take the wheel of my heart and car, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
