A Sincere Vessel

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Today I learned in Sunday school, what the word sincere was used as in the Bible to describe a pottery that was unwaxed, meaning genuine or pure vessel. While living in the world we end up with many cracks in our life. Of course we want others to see us as prefect so we just do a temporary mending job that way our flaws will not be seen. The Corinth’s would take wax and temporarily fill the cracks on the pottery and then paint it, making the vessel look authentic. How often did we do this before we came to know Christ as our Savior? Praise God we have the Creator Himself willing and ready to take us in His mighty hands and reshape us into a pure and genuine vessel that can be used by Him and not leak from the temporary patches of wax. We are to be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work, (2 Timothy 2:21).

Heavenly Father, thank You for this message today. It was much needed. I no longer have to live a temporary patched life, I can live knowing You, my Creator has take me back to the pottery wheel and has molded me into the vessel You Lord desire me to be, in Jesus name, Amen.

Keep Your Mind On God

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

This was a much needed reminder for me today! My mind has been going full speed ahead these last few days on everything in this world that is going on. Facebook notifications have kept me distracted and my own mind has been in the clouds most of this day. Even my morning prayer, devotion and Bible study was noisy. I reached out to my fellow brothers and sisters today and ask for prayer. I could tell the insist they started praying because a peace came over me, and God dropped this verse in my heart. I don’t know what you are struggling with right now, that is trying to take God’s place or distracting you from hearing His voice. Know this reject all the mess of the world that you are allowing your mind to be filled with and get with God. He tells us here in this verses whatsoever is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, good report, if it be any virtue or praise; think on these things. Sometimes we can allow things to preoccupy our minds and before we know it we have spent a whole day wrapped up in things that haven’t glorified God as a witness for others. The devil is good at using even good things to distract us from God and His Word. Get in a quite room away from any social media, pull your Bible out and start talking to God, and most importantly listen. He can renew your mind and what was a noisy day, can become a successful day in Christ.

Heavenly Father thank You for the gift of prayer warriors, they make a huge difference in my day. Thank You Father for always having Your ear turned to me and arms stretched out as I struggle to keep my feet planted in the shifting sands. I know that when things get noisy, that is my sign to shut the world out and spend time renewing myself in You. Thank You for the gift of peace, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
